A Qualified Opportunity Fund is an investment vehicle that is set up as either a partnership or corporation for investing in eligible property that is located in an Opportunity Zone and that utilizes the investor’s gains from a prior investment for funding the Opportunity Fund. Benefits of the Opportunity Zone program include temporary deferral, step-up basis, or permanent exclusions from taxable income of capital gains from sale or exchange of an investment in an Opportunity Fund.

The Downtown Frederick Partnership works to enhance, promote and preserve the vitality and livability of this national Main Street community. The Partnership serves as an invaluable resource to Downtown businesses, residents, and visitors alike.

Ambassador Program
The Downtown Frederick Ambassador Program employs 4-6 full-time workers (depending upon the season) to monitor and clean the downtown area. Ambassadors work from 7AM-10PM five days a week (Wednesday through Sunday). The ambassador program covers more than 17 blocks of the downtown area – including Market Street, Patrick Street, Carroll Creek Linear Park and Everedy Square & Shab Row.
Ambassadors help keep Downtown Frederick a safe and beautiful destination by providing essential functions, such as actively engaging pedestrians with friendly greetings and assistance, providing directions and information to visitors, picking up trash and power washing sidewalks, removing graffiti and stickers from light poles and other public infrastructure, collecting leaves and debris from sidewalks and gutters, pulling weeds in public spaces, and so much more! Park and Shop Program
Downtown Businesses may purchase “Park and Shop” coupons to provide free or reduced cost garage parking to their clientele & customers. These coupons may be used in exchange for hourly parking and are valid at all 5 garages. Contact the City's Parking Department to learn more.

Downtown Hotel at Carroll Creek
The Downtown Frederick Hotel at Carroll Creek builds on 30 years of investment in downtown and along Carroll Creek Park to bring a strongly needed new lodging and meeting space to Downtown Frederick. The new facility, to be located as an anchor on Carroll Creek Park at the intersection of East Patrick and Carroll Streets, responds to both stated community and business needs. Proposed as a full-service Marriott hotel, the project will generate an estimated $35 million in economic impact and will attract future private investment into the surrounding area.
