Back In Business Conditional Microgrant

The COVID-19 Back In Business Conditional Microgrant Program is designed to financially assist City-based small businesses which have been substantially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and which have not previously received local assistance. Funding for this program is through the City of Frederick Department of Economic Development (DED) GROW Fund utilizing funds from Federal CARES Act through the State of Maryland and Frederick County. Awards will be made utilizing a random lottery-based system.

Food Service & Outdoor Seating: 

As limitations on restaurants & food service establishments are eased, we recommend you consult the FDA’s Restaurant ReOpening Check-list, as well as the Frederick County Health Department’s Food Control Office for new guidelines  & best practices. 

  • Existing Outdoor Dining Spaces:

    • As of 5pm on May 29, food service establishments in The City of Frederick are permitted to reopen all previously approved outdoor dining areas (i.e. existing sidewalk cafes, patio areas) in accordance with new Health Department requirements for safe social distances.
